Getting In & Around
- Without a car: Tavira has a train station on the Algarve line with regular connections along the coast and north to Lisbon, plus Vamus/Eva regional buses and long-distance coaches — one of the strongest car-free bases in the region (Portugalist). The island is ferry-access by design.
- With a car: 30 minutes from Faro airport; useful only for inland villages and Spain runs. Taxis and Uber operate in town.
